The AMS-IX, one of the world’s largest Internet Exchanges operating six interconnect platforms around the world – in Amsterdam, Bay Area, Caribbean, Chicago, Hong Kong and Mumbai, has appointed Iris Vonk (48) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Mike Baron (43) as Senior Director Sales & Marketing.
“AMS-IX is continuously evolving to keep delivering and providing premium and high-quality interconnection services to its members and customers,” said Peter van Burgel, CEO of AMS-IX. “The CFO and Senior Director Sales & Marketing positions play a pivotal role in our dynamic organization. We are very glad to welcome Iris and Mike to our organization as they both bring extensive knowledge and experience from their respective fields.”
Iris Vonk started her career in 1995 as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and subsequently held several senior financial management positions in the media and entertainment industry in the Netherlands and the UK. Prior to joining AMS-IX, Iris worked for 5 years as the CFO at Platform 161 B.V.

At CGI Mike held several positions since 2004. Mike has a Technical Software Engineering and IT consultancy background which enables him to easily relate to both Information Technology and Technical Infrastructure topics. Mike held the position of Director Consulting Services at CGI Group Inc before joining AMS-IX.

Over 850 IP-networks are currently connected to the AMS-IX platform. During peak hours AMS-IX would process over 6.3 Terabits of Internet traffic per second, while delivering IP interconnection- and peering services for all types of IP traffic. This includes traditional data, Voice-over-IP, mobile traffic or video to a wide range of businesses worldwide such as Internet Service Providers (ISPs), mobile operators, content providers, hosting providers and cloud providers, TV broadcasters, gaming companies and enterprises.
