As part of the development, DataBank’s flagship Dallas region data center, DFW3, has launched Data Hall 3, which adds 12,000 square feet of elevated flooring and 1.5MW of electricity to the facility. The DFW3 facility is located in Plano, one of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex’s fastest-growing neighborhoods, which is close to the region’s ‘Telecom Corridor.’

Databank DFW3, which is located in Plano’s Legacy Park neighborhood, would provide 24×7 network availability, carrier neutrality, and high performance. DFW3 will include a total of six data halls, totaling 72,000 square feet of useable area and up to 40MW of total power from various utility sources.

“This flagship data center represents our largest and most advanced facility in the Dallas area,” said Danny Allen, vice president of engineering at DataBank. “DataBank continues to meet its commitments to current and potential customers who need reliable, first-class IT infrastructure to handle colocation, connectivity and cloud services.”

The DFW3 facility has 10 carrier POPs on-site as well as two additional large Dallas metroplex carrier hotels. It’s also linked to DataBank’s DFW1 and DFW2 data centers through a data center interconnection (DCI) network, allowing for active DRaaS solutions.

DataBank’s FedRAMP-certified cloud platform is also housed at DFW3, ensuring that the whole facility satisfies FedRAMP/FISMA auditing criteria. Full perimeter fence, round-the-clock on-site security staff, and dual-factor authentication (card and biometric) on external access and all data center doors are among the security features at DFW3.

The DFW3 facility also fulfills a number of critical industry compliance requirements, including HIPAA HITECH, SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II, SSAE 18, and PCI DSS compliance certifications, in addition to FedRAMP/FISMA.

Across its 60+ data centers, modular/micro data centers, and 20 neutral interconnects, DataBank’s edge infrastructure platform delivers colocation, cloud, and network services. Managed security and compliance services, as well as a 100 percent uptime guarantee, would give businesses an added degree of support and reliability.
