DataBank Launches Bare Metal Services Across the U.S.

Databank

The debut of DataBank METAL, a single-tenant bare metal product, is announced by DataBank, a supplier of enterprise-grade colocation, connectivity, and managed services. DataBank METAL can be deployed within DataBank’s U.S. footprint of over 40 data centers across more than 20 U.S. metros.

Bare metal in a DataBank data center would offer a comprehensive infrastructure solution for businesses looking to strike a balance between flexibility, performance, and cost while preserving and enhancing their presence at the edge. This hosting option falls between traditional colocation and private cloud hosting.

DataBank METAL offers automated server deployment orchestration so users can rapidly expand their distinctive environments to the edge and closer to personnel, clients, and prospects without incurring capital costs. Clients can utilize whatever operating systems, programs, and management tools they have created or adopted in this way without needing to follow any external standards or conventions.

“With its ability to deliver fast deployments, reliable performance and scalability, and edge solutions, DataBank’s bare metal delivers a best-of-all worlds approach capable of delivering significant business value,” said Greg Shamieh, Senior Product Manager at DataBank.

Server Orchestration Layer

According to DataBank, their bare metal offering is a great option for many enterprises as they aim to meet their edge vision and ambitions. To provide a significant amount of data to the edge, DataBank’s colocation-focused data centers are strategically positioned across North America. As stated, the bare metal foundation of DataBank’s solution also includes a server orchestration layer. By implementing the solution how they see suitable, this would provide clients the ability to manage their deployments without restrictions or limitations.

Companies can build, test, deploy, and maintain their workloads using DataBank METAL’s “industry-standard” environment without having to sign up for additional services they might not require. Furthermore, bare metal servers would give businesses the option to rent server capacity on an ongoing OpEx basis, accelerating time to market and essentially doing away with capital expenditures.
