Datapipe Acquires Big Data Multi-Cloud Pioneer GoGrid

Datapipe, a global provider of managed hybrid IT solutions and cloud hosting solutions for the enterprise, has acquired GoGrid, a provider of multi-cloud solutions for Big Data deployments. GoGrid’s proprietary orchestration and automation technologies would provide 1-Button deployment for big data solutions that speed creation and results of new cloud projects.

datapipe-cloud-hostingGoGrid has more than a decade of experience in managed cloud and dedicated hosting. In 2013, the company added a focus on Big Data infrastructure, including clustered test and production environments for a range of NoSQL database technologies. Last year, the company introduced its 1-Button Deploy orchestration process, and partnered with Cloudera to speed up enterprise Hadoop deployments.

DH Capital, LLC initiated the transaction and served as exclusive financial advisor to GoGrid. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Hybrid Cloud

“GoGrid has made it easy for companies to stand up Big Data solutions quickly,” said Robb Allen, CEO, Datapipe. “Datapipe customers will achieve significant value from the speed at which we can now create new Big Data projects in the cloud. This acquisition advances Datapipe’s strategy to help our enterprise clients architect, deploy and manage multi-cloud hybrid IT solutions. ”

With over 15,000 customers and over 600,000 VMs deployed, GoGrid has pioneered cloud infrastructure for companies like Condé Nast, Merkle, and Preventice.

The announcement follows the news of Datapipe acquiring managed hosting and cloud company, Layered Tech, last August. That acquisition fueled Datapipe’s expansion into the Government sector with FISMA and FedRAMP compliant Federal cloud hosting offerings.

Datapipe’s areas of expertise include private and public cloud, HIPAA, PCI compliance, security, database, network, storage, disaster recovery and migration. The company operates data centers in influential technical and financial markets including New York Metro, Ashburn VA, Silicon Valley, Iceland, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.
