Datapipe Adds TelecityGroup’s Former CEO, Michael Tobin, to Its Board of Directors

Datapipe, a global provider of managed hybrid IT solutions and cloud hosting solutions for the enterprise, has announced the addition of Michael Tobin, former CEO of TelecityGroup, to its Board of Directors. Tobin joins Datapipe’s board to help the company further its leadership position in the managed IT services industry.

“Datapipe continues to stand out in the industry for having world-class solutions for multi-cloud environments,” said Michael Tobin.

As a board member, Michael Tobin will provide his expertise and thought leadership to help Datapipe continue its strategic expansion and growth. Michael Tobin, who had led TelecityGroup for 12 years, left the company at the end of October 2014.

“Datapipe continues to stand out in the industry for having world-class solutions for multi-cloud environments,” said Michael Tobin. “Their commitment to solving customer problems and their drive to continuously innovate shines through as a competitive advantage. I look forward to helping Datapipe drive growth and profitability to further advance their leadership as the cloud industry continues to expand.”

Tobin led TelecityGroup for 12 years through a number of significant achievements in the company’s growth. This included a successful IPO in October 2007, and subsequent acquisitions and expansions into new strategic markets. Prior to TelecityGroup, Tobin ran Fujitsu’s e-Commerce operations in Germany. Throughout his career, Tobin has been instrumental in successfully managing and strategically expanding major companies.

The Digital Economy

Michael Tobin’s business and thought leadership have been widely recognized. In 2014, he was honored in the Queen’s New Year’s Honors List with the Order of the British Empire medal for Services to the Digital Economy. In 2011, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to the Data Center Industry at the Data Center Europe Awards.

The announcement follows Datapipes recent acquisition of GoGrid, a provider of multi-cloud solutions for Big Data deployments. GoGrid’s proprietary orchestration and automation technologies would provide 1-Button deployment for big data solutions that speed creation and results of new cloud projects.
