Day1 Solutions, a cloud services and solutions expert, and Zayo Group, an international provider of bandwidth infrastructure services, have signed an agreement to deliver private connectivity between enterprise customer data centers and Amazon Web Services (AWS) worldwide.
As part of the agreement, Day1 Solutions will offer Zayo’s private connectivity to AWS cloud hosting customers through its Day1 Connect managed service solution. Day1 Connect is a turnkey, pre-packaged, managed service that delivers an end-to-end, private and secured connection from AWS cloud into the customer data center.
Day1 Connect leverages dedicated network connections offered by data center and telecom partners, like Zayo, to deliver a complete solution that can reduce network costs, increase bandwidth throughput, and provide a more consistent network experience than Internet-based connections.
The agreement was announced this week in Las Vegas at AWS re:Invent, the annual AWS Partner Network cloud computing conference.
Private Storage
Enterprise customers use Day1 Connect to support critical aspects of their IT operations in the cloud, as-a-service (aaS). These include but are not limited to: private storage and compute aaS where primary data is kept local; disaster recovery aaS which can reduce VMware and server costs; test and development aaS which increases efficiencies and time to market; and high performance workloads aaS which optimizes big data and analytics.
By leveraging Zayo’s 81,000 route mile fiber-optic network to access the cloud, customers would gain access to reliable, secure, high-bandwidth connectivity that improves cloud experience. Zayo Group also offers 37 carrier-neutral colocation facilities across the U.S. and France.
