Dcspine is a software-defined data center interconnection platform developed by Eurofiber Group, a provider of telecommunications and network infrastructure services in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. It offers automated and high bandwidth capacity connectivity between 75+ data centers in the Netherlands and Belgium. DCspine is now available in the AMS01 colocation data center of maincubes in Amsterdam Schiphol-Rijk.

DCspine’s software-defined data center interconnectivity platform provides real-time connectivity services on its network backbone with at least 100Gbit capacity. Since 2017, DCspine has connected 75+ data centers in the Netherlands and Belgium, has welcomed more than 200 IT and cloud providers on the network and has upgraded the maximum capacity to 400Gbit in certain areas of the network.

“maincubes offers a highly connected colocation data center in the Amsterdam area,” said Joris te Lintelo, Vice President of maincubes. “With its flexible and fast service, DCspine provides additional opportunities to our customers and prospects. DCspine allows our customers to go live faster and to adapt easier to evolving IT infrastructure demands.”

OCP Ready Data Center

As an OCP Ready data center, maincubes AMS01 delivers higher power densities in kW/rack, enhanced flexibility and performance, and improved energy efficiency, in line with Open Compute Project directives. maincubes builds on its promise to drive the adoption of OCP and innovation for data centers. The datacenter in Amsterdam Schiphol-Rijk is also the location of the European OCP Experience Center, where CIOs, CTOs, ICT managers, and data center managers can test and experience for themselves the benefits of OCP principles for their organizations.

DCspine and maincubes declare to have a very complementary vision. maincubes positions itself as a carrier neutral data center with a strong focus on Open Compute. Their Open Compute principles would fit seamlessly with the Open Networking principles which DCspine is based on. The principles of both these movements have strong focus on the seamless interconnection between different parties, creating increased flexibility, efficiency, and scalability and allowing customers to achieve better performance and faster innovation.

DCspine can be seen as a ‘Virtual Meet Me Room’ for all connected data centers. Some examples of other data centers in the Netherlands and Belgium where DCspine is present include Greenhouse Datacenters, NorthC Datacenters, Iron Mountain, Bytesnet, SmartDC, Dataplace, Equinix, Digital Realty, Cellnex, Interxion Brussels, LCL Antwerp and Diegem, Switch Datacenters, and others.
