“With the extension of our services to Unix-Solutions’ two data centers, we immediately connect a number of customers and offer them direct access to all kinds of network services,” said Jan Michiel Berkel, managing director of DCspine.

Interconnection platform DCspine has connected the two Unix-Solutions data centers in Zaventem and Leuven to its network. With this expansion, DCspine now offers its services between six data centers in Belgium. In the Netherlands, more than 70 data centers are already connected to the network platform.

Both of Unix-Solutions’ data centers are Tier 3 built and ISO 27001 certified. Founded in 2005, Unix-Solutions offers a wide range of (managed & unmanaged) solutions include high available cloud services, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), (private) Platform-as-a-Service, IT housing/colocation, web hosting and domain names.

“With the extension of our services to Unix-Solutions’ two data centers, we immediately connect a number of customers and offer them direct access to all kinds of network services, including a direct, secure and scalable connection to AWS and NaWAS DDoS protection,” said Jan Michiel Berkel, managing director of DCspine. “This confirms the relevance of our interconnection platform.”

“DCspine provides a nice addition and extension to our existing services because of the growing demand for interconnects to other cloud or service providers,” said Steven Bens, Managing Director of Unix-Solutions.

In 2019, DCspine took its first steps in Belgium by connecting Interxion, LCL in Diegem & Antwerp and with Datacenter United Antwerp.

“DCspine provides a nice addition and extension to our existing services because of the growing demand for interconnects to other cloud or service providers,” said Steven Bens, Managing Director of Unix-Solutions. “We are also pleased to become an important link in DCspine’s network in Belgium. With this expansion of DCspine, there will also be an additional cross border interconnect in the east of our country in the future, which will only improve the redundancy of the DCspine network.”

According to DCspine, the expansion into Belgium has led to a strong growth of cross-border connectivity services between the Netherlands and Belgium and a rich offer of direct access to public cloud and national IT and cloud providers. Following this successful launch of DCspine in Belgium, the platform is now expanding to include the data centers of Unix-Solutions as another step in the realization of its growth strategy.
