DuploCloud, a provider of no-code/low-code infrastructure automation and compliance services, has raised $15 million in a Series A fundraising round headed by Mayfield, a top-tier global venture capital firm, with current seed investor Monta Vista Capital participating. DuploCloud’s DevOps-as-a-Service platform is being adopted by startups and mid-sized organizations, as well as those transferring applications to the cloud, due to the growing skills shortage for DevOps experts.

Built by original engineers from Microsoft Azure and AWS, DuploCloud’s no-code/low-code platform for cloud infrastructure automation and compliance would be easy to use and fast to deploy. From infrastructure provisioning and application deployment to security controls and alerts, the solution has been designed to meet all the cloud infrastructure needs of growing companies.

DuploCloud has seen tremendous demand for its solution since its launch in 2018, resulting in a 270 percent year-over-year revenue increase. The extra funds will be utilized to boost product development and innovation, as well as extend the company’s sales and marketing teams and expand its global reach.

“The global DevOps shortage is very real and we are excited to partner with Mayfield to expand our software and service offering, and grow the company to meet industry demand,” said Venkat Thiruvengadam, Founder and CEO of DuploCloud. “We are well on our way toward delivering on our mission of empowering both application developers and DevOps engineers to create and quickly launch secure and compliant cloud-based applications.”

DevOps Professionals, No-Code/Low-Code Model

Hundreds of startups and early-stage businesses have used DuploCloud to build cloud apps. The majority of cloud security software solutions are used for post-provisioning and monitoring of security and compliance controls, accounting for just 30% of the whole solution, according to DuploCloud. Human DevOps professionals would have to fix the heart of the problem by developing thousands of lines of automated code. DuploCloud, on the other hand, is primarily a provisioning system with built-in compliance controls, with monitoring and auditing thrown in for good measure. The solution would relieve DevOps engineers of routine chores, allowing them to concentrate on activities that actually differentiate the company.

“For years businesses large and small have been writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to deploy their applications to the cloud. While IaC is an admirable way to shave the time and effort required to deploy cloud applications, it still leaves much to be desired by developers and security professionals alike,” said Venktesh Shukla, founder and general partner of Monta Vista Capital. “Our investment in DuploCloud underscores our belief that the fundamental change in the approach to IT will come from putting control into the hands of developers with a no-code/low-code solution.”

“By elevating the developer and accelerating the delivery of delightful secure cloud applications, DuploCloud joins the wave of iconic devcentric companies that have been created over the last decade,” said Navin Chaddha, managing director of Mayfield. “Venkat and his team have felt the pain directly, so have built a comprehensive DevOps as a service product with a low-code/no-code model which has resulted in their momentum.”
