Dimension Data, a $6.7 billion global services and solutions provider founded in 1983, has announced that its managed cloud hosting and consultancy services are now available through the UK’s recently launched G-Cloud 6 Framework. The G-Cloud 6 Framework is a UK Government initiative designed to open up the cloud-based IT tender process to more public sector organizations.

Overseen by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), the G-Cloud 6 Framework initiative aims to drive efficiencies and cost savings within the public sector, by giving organizations access to a more competitive marketplace with cloud-based services.
Dimension Data delivers these services, which span the initial planning and design stage right through to ongoing management and support, via its UK Managed Cloud Platform (MCP). Fully integrated and managed by Dimension Data’s team of experts, the MCP would speed up cloud hosting deployments, reduce the risks associated with migrating to the cloud, and ensure that solutions can scale to meet the evolving IT demands of public sector organizations.
Dimension Data’s MCP comprises servers, storage and network infrastructure coupled with virtualization technology, operating system software, and Dimension Data CloudControl, a cloud management system that automates the application lifecycle management and self-service administration.
