DNS Made Easy, a subsidiary of Tiggee LLC, and a provider of global IP Anycast enterprise DNS services, has released a whitepaper – outlining the security benefits of an IP Anycast + network. Their whitepaper is designed for both the DNS expert and the budding DNS manager.
In this whitepaper, titled ‘The Security Benefits of Outsourcing DNS to an IP Anycast + Provider,’ DNS Made Easy engineers discuss the benefits and vulnerabilities of both Unicast and Anycast networks.
Unicast networks are typically seen at in-house facilities and consequently would be costly and more likely to fail when fending off an attack, according to DNS Made Easy. By using outsourced IP Anycast + networks, companies wouldn’t have to waste money on overpriced routers or firewall. Not to mention, these firewalls would essentially be useless according to the whitepaper, as Unicast systems will commonly fail under the weight of malicious traffic before the firewall is even used.
This initiative would come at a crucial time, with Cyber Monday less than a week away. “Businesses need to understand the importance of DNS management, and start taking control over their global presence,” said President of DNS Made Easy, Steven Job. “Implementing an IP Anycast + network is the first step, and DNS Made Easy has continually outperformed the competition when it comes to redundancy and security.”
The new whitepaper can be downloaded for free on the DNS Made Easy blog.
Originally launched in 2002, DNS Made Easy’s services have grown to manage hundreds of thousands of customer domains receiving more than 15 billion queries per day.
