DreamHost, a global provider of web hosting and cloud hosting services, has launched its DreamSpeed CDN. The new content delivery network is powered by Fastly, a global CDN platform that features Varnish Control Language (VCL), all-SSD storage, multi-core CPUs, as well as 10Gb Ethernet.
DreamSpeed CDN is a solution aimed at accelerating all kinds of websites and applications, whether it’s a small blog serving up cat pictures and infrequent musings on life, or a large media-heavy site loaded with videos.
DreamHost’s CDN solution is tightly integrated with DreamObjects, the company’s cloud storage service. Content for the web stored in DreamObjects can now be delivered to users with greater speed through the global network of points of presence (PoPs).
Fastly has PoPs at the center of the highest density Internet Exchange Points in cities around the world including (but not limited to) Los Angeles, New York, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. Its patent-pending Fastly Caching Software delivers static, dynamic, and streaming content with low latency. Fastly’s customers include Github, New Relic, Shopify, Twitter, Etsy, Shazam, Wanelo, and Yammer.
