DynTek, a provider of professional technology services to state and local governments, educational institutions and commercial entities in the largest IT markets across the U.S., has launched a Security Operations Center (SOC) in Albany, NY to provide clients cyber security threat protection, monitoring, management and alerting.
DynTek’s Security Operations Center offers IDS/IPS monitoring and alerting; email and end point security monitoring and management; mitigation and remediation; and more. The cyber security services are backed by a “state-of-the-art” threat intelligence and analytics platform.
“Our next generation Security Operations Center is different than many solutions on the market today, because we are alerting on near-real time events,” said Joe Grant, DynTek’s director of managed services. “We are not mining for data on a traditional SIEM platform. We identify critical threats immediately through a leading analytics platform to gain granular detail and context for each security incident. In the end, this leads to more accurate information and faster resolution time. Clients have immediate insight so they can pinpoint the physical location of an incident and take appropriate action.”
“In many instances, we have been able to stop attacks and data exfiltration within minutes of launching the solution with our clients,“ added Mr. Grant. “We create immediate value by catching incidents that may have gone unnoticed for months or possibly years.”
Managed Cyber Security
The company plans to expand its SOC offerings in coming months to include ‘Phishing Campaigns and End User Security Training.’ DynTek’s goal is to provide customers with a comprehensive managed security solution incorporating email, endpoint, network, data and cloud security; infrastructure management; incident response; and training – all based on “industry-leading” threat intelligence platforms.
“Clients are busy running the day-to-day operations of their core business, yet the security of their critical data, systems and networks is paramount,” said Joe Rubino, DynTek’s vice president of the east region. “To create 24×7 security monitoring in-house requires, at minimum, 4 full time employees. Our SOC managed service typically costs a fraction of one full time employee and affords our customers the ability to outsource the risk and broaden their cyber security resources in an economic manner.”
