eApps Hosting, a value-added provider of cloud hosting services, hosting over 15,000 domains in more than 125 countries, has deployed a new SSD based distributed data storage system for its Virtual Cloud platform. The new storage system, by StorPool, would deliver significantly enhanced performance, reliability and scalability.
StorPool’s storage system will be deployed on eApps’ “high speed” network and uses solid state drives (SSD) for maximum performance. The new system is being rolled out for all Virtual Cloud customers, with no increase in storage pricing.
The first Virtual Cloud zone, in the company’s Atlanta data center location, has been successfully converted to StorPool’s Distributed Storage system. All customers in the Atlanta zone have been migrated to the new storage system. Deployment of the Distributed Storage system in all eApps Cloud zones is underway, with an expected completion date by the end of the first quarter of 2017.
eApps Hosting customers that are now on the new storage system are benefiting from improved disk performance and higher levels of I/O throughput, says eApps Hosting.
eApps Virtual Cloud
With StorPool, additional storage capacity can be “easily” added, allowing eApps to offer very large disks for a Virtual Cloud Server. 1-terabyte disks are available now, with larger disk options planned in the near future.
The eApps Virtual Cloud service runs on fault tolerant infrastructure and uses the OnApp Cloud management system. Customers use the eApps Create-A-Cloud tool to select RAM, CPU, Disk, and an OS template for their custom Virtual Cloud Server, which is then provisioned “in minutes.”
An extensive list of Linux and Windows templates, many bundled with popular application services including Apache Tomcat, Wildfly, GlassFish, Liferay Portal, and leading database servers, are available. The service offers free support, including ‘on-ramp’ assistance for those customers that need help deploying their site.
Customers have a free option for ISPsystem’s ISPmanager Lite control panel and a full-featured customer Portal. The Virtual Cloud service is backed by eApps Hosting’s in-house 24/7 support by phone, chat, email, and Skype.
