Tony Craythorne has joined Zadara’s executive team as chief revenue officer. Zadara is a global pioneer in storage-as-a-service solutions and edge cloud services (CRO). Mr. Craythorne joins Zadara to head global sales, accelerate acceptance of the company’s Federated Edge initiative, increase channel alliances, and bring Zadara’s edge cloud solutions to the enterprise. He has more than 25 years of expertise in our industry.
Mr. Craythorne was most recently the CEO of Bamboo Systems Group, a developer of server-class platforms. Bamboo executed a successful rebranding drive under Craythorne’s leadership, gained numerous Fortune 500 client accounts, and raised approximately $11 million in pre-Series A investment. Craythorne has previously worked at Komprise, Nexsan, and NexGen Storage in top capacities.
In his new capacity as CRO at Zadara, Tony Craythorne will use his 25 years of industry experience and expertise driving sales and channel strategies for disruptive companies.
“Hybrid, multi-cloud and edge computing are the next frontier and Zadara is offering something truly unique,” said Tony Craythorne. “While most cloud providers today are offering large data centers, Zadara is the only true edge cloud provider. Zadara delivers a full stack infrastructure of storage, compute and networking, all at a fraction of the cost of the hyperscalers. The opportunity to expand Zadara’s customer base to build the world’s largest edge cloud is very exciting. I’m proud to join the team that is making a differentiated cloud experience a reality.”
Edge Cloud Locations
The addition of Mr. Craythorne comes at a time when Zadara is experiencing rapid growth, having recently expanded its offerings with production-ready compute-as-a-service, zCompute, and more than doubling its global partner network to over 250 unique channel partners with more than 300 edge cloud locations. Zadara has partnered with “best-in-class” providers such as Cyxtera, Sandz, Viatel, CenturyLink, NTT, KT, Africa Data Centres, and K3 Starcom in the last year. Over the previous year, Zadara has added about 100 new workers and extended its corporate presence in Tokyo, Brazil, Tel Aviv, and across the United States.
“Zadara will soon offer an edge cloud location near every major city in the world, and we are working diligently to accelerate edge cloud availability and adoption across our partner network,” said Nelson Nahum, CEO and co-founder of Zadara. “Tony brings experience not only in building world class sales and channel programs but also leadership as a former CEO. His unmatched industry experience and customer-first approach makes him a natural fit for the Zadara team.”
Founded in 2011, Zadara offers its solutions on-premises and through cloud and colocation providers. Its Edge Cloud Platform (ZECP) has reduced operational complexity by automating the provisioning of compute, storage, and network resources from end to end. Zadara is headquartered in Irvine, California with locations in Cirencester (UK), Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Yokneam (Israel), Bangalore and Brazil.
