Learn how Elastic’s performance can be leveraged in pipelines you have not previously considered. In public transit, rider safety is paramount, and real-time analytics allow operators to deliver efficient, fast transportation without sacrificing safety. By observing riders’ routes through the transit network, resources can be deployed in real-time to mitigate congestion or manage delays. Blue Flag initially tried to use Neo4j implementation of Dijkstra graph algorithms for real-time route detection, but this could not scale to the size of the network or the signals being observed. Using Elasticsearch, they went from 15 seconds per route query to 1-2 milliseconds.
