Eurofiber, owner/operator of a 38,000KM fiberoptic network covering the Netherlands, Belgium and Northern France while stretching into Germany, has expanded its fiberoptic network into Frankfurt. The network Point-of-Presence (PoP) will be set up in Equinix’s FR5 data center. Eurofiber is also immediately connecting its interconnectivity platform DCspine to the new network PoP in Frankfurt.
Partly due to its position as a financial center, Frankfurt is one of the most important Internet hubs in Europe. According to Eurofiber, direct access to other hubs, including Amsterdam and Brussels, is crucial for internationally operating parties like global carriers, OTT and fintech companies. The fiberoptics company is meeting this need with the opening of its Frankfurt-based network Point-of-Presence.
The network PoP will be set up in Equinix’s FR5 data center. Eurofiber is also immediately connecting its interconnectivity platform DCspine to the new PoP.
“With this new network PoP in Frankfurt, we offer our clients direct access to practically all enterprise buildings in the relevant metro areas via our 38,000-kilometer European network, and also on-demand access to more than 215 data centers in the Benelux, without the intervention of other parties,” said Rhoderick van der Wyck, International Sales Director, Eurofiber. “This means one contact person, in one contract, under one SLA which meets the highest standards in the market.
