Eurofiber Subsidiary Dataplace to Build Tier III Colocation Data Center in Amsterdam Region

Dataplace, a colocation data center company founded in 2010 and part of fiber-optic network company Eurofiber Group since 2016, has announced its plans to build a “Tier III” data center in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. The new data center in the Amsterdam region is designed for full 2N configuration while being equipped with “state-of-the-art” technologies.

Dataplace already offers regional coverage in the Netherlands through its four geographically dispersed “Tier III” data centers. The addition of a fifth data center location in the Amsterdam region would make Dataplace an attractive partner for foreign businesses seeking a network spanning the entire Netherlands.

Through this expansion Dataplace is anticipating future technological developments including 5G and IoT, which highlight the importance of having data centers close to en users.

The new data center will be positioned in the market under the name ‘Dataplace Amsterdam.’ Dataplace will commence data center construction around January 2019, with the tentative opening date of Dataplace Amsterdam scheduled for Q3 2019.

Dataplace has ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 50001 and NEN 7510 certifications in place as well as ISAE-3402 type II certification. Supplementing an extensive fiber-optic network in the Netherlands and Belgium, Eurofiber offers solutions for fully flexible interconnectivity between over 50 data centers in the Netherlands. Eurofiber has installed more than 28,000 km of fiber-optic cable until now and expands its network by 40 kilometers per week on average. The services of the company are exploited by five entitiess: Eurofiber The Netherlands, Eurofiber Belgium, Dataplace, UNET, and DCspine.
