Extreme Networks has launched ExtremeCloud Edge, a networking cloud continuum that would give businesses greater flexibility and options when it comes to executing networking applications like management, analytics, and AI from any location. ExtremeCloud Edge is one of the first of its kind on the market and aims to simplify the management of a broad range of cloud use cases across public, private, and edge cloud installations, thereby reducing complexity and operational costs.

The computing platform, hosted at the network edge, unifies management of networking applications and allows customers to deploy ExtremeCloud applications, such as ExtremeCloud IQ, CoPilot, and SD-WAN, across the entire cloud spectrum, from private cloud to the edge. With high bandwidth and low latency performance, this would improve user experience while helping companies meet security requirements like data sovereignty. It would also lower expenses associated with complicated cloud implementations.

ExtremeCloud Edge offers a cloud continuum that would give organizations the ability to coordinate their network and cloud expenditures in a way that is most advantageous to their operations. The platform also offers multiple deployment scenarios. According to Extreme Networks, this is crucial, as businesses are becoming more decentralized, and customers at the edge are becoming more reliant on bandwidth-intensive and latency-sensitive services.

ExtremeCloud Edge helps businesses deliver networking applications like cloud management, analytics, and AI to the edge “in a simple and cost-effective way.” The platform brings processing capacity closer to the user, reducing concerns about cloud sovereignty and enhancing network speed. The service also allows customers to manage all cloud deployment types from a single application.
