Global content delivery network (CDN) provider Fastly (NYSE: FSLY) has hired industry vet Lakshmi Sharma as its new Chief Product Officer, effective November 29, 2021. A former product leader at Google, Cisco, and Target, Lakshmi Sharma will lead Fastly’s continuous investment in solutions to maximize performance, programmability, and security for developers.
Lakshmi Sharma brings more than 20 years of engineering and product development experience to Fastly. She has spent decades developing dynamic product organizations, most recently as the Director of Product Management for Networking at Google Cloud, where she was responsible for the end-to-end customer experience for network solutions across different sectors.
According to Fastly, Sharma is ready to make major contributions to the company’s delivery, security, and edge compute portfolios, with considerable expertise across infrastructure, cloud, and security businesses, including product and technical leadership roles at Target Corporation, Cisco, and Juniper Networks.

Fastly’s Product Innovation
Lakshmi Sharma will report to Fastly CEO Joshua Bixby and will be responsible for the company’s long-term product planning and innovation, which will enable Fastly clients to design, launch, and secure contemporary distributed applications.
