As an owner of a fiber optic backbone network spanning all of Poland, Hawe Telekom made the decision to move its IT infrastructure to a data center operated by Beyond.pl. The company chose Beyond.pl as its colocation provider because of its data center security level and sustainability efforts. Beyond.pl’s data centers are powered exclusively with green energy.
Up until recently, Hawe Telekom opted for maintaining its corporate IT resources internally, based on hosted infrastructure deployed on-premises. However, as Hawe Telekom’s activities have grown and its business has developed, so have the company’s and its clients’ expectations for the security and accessibility of its communications services. As a result, the telecom provider made the decision to move a portion of its actual IT assets to a specialized data center that complies with the strictest security requirements.
Hawe Telekom migrated its aggregation and network traffic control resources to Beyond.pl Data Center 2. According to Beyond.pl itself, it’s one of the three most secure data centers in the European Union.
The independent, global ANSI/TIA-942 Rated 4 accreditation would attest to the data center infrastructure’s great quality. The company would enable a 99.995 percent uptime guarantee for its data center services. According to Beyond.pl itself, potential colocation service downtime for Beyond.pl clients is capped at 26 minutes annually, while since Data Center 2’s 2016 commissioning, customers have enjoyed 100 percent uptime.
Colocation Services Delivery

Under the terms of the signed contract, Hawe Telekom has acquired a dedicated server room that was designed and equipped by Beyond.pl to the customer’s specifications. As a result, Hawe Telekom is now able to provide colocation services to its clients from one of Europe’s most cutting-edge data centers.
“Being present with our infrastructure at leading data centers in Poland and reducing our carbon footprint related to the supply of power to telecommunication and IT are key parts of our long-term strategy,” said Paweł Paluchowski, President of the Management Board at Hawe Telekom. “Building out our presence at the Beyond.pl’s Data Center 2 was only a matter of time.”
“The speed and coverage of our fiber optic network combined with hosting our IT infrastructure at Beyond.pl allows us to offer our customers stable telecommunication services that meet the highest security standards,” added Mr. Paluchowski. “We are also aiming to reduce our energy consumption costs, and Beyond.pl’s data center facilities are well-known for their superior energy efficiency, which should help us meet this goal.”
As part of the colocation services offered under the agreement from Beyond.pl campus, the operator manages one of the Hawe Telekom’s main telecommunication nodes, which connects the main connectivity line with Western Europe and beyond.
Additionally, the Poznan campus’ colocation of one of the major telecommunications carriers’ infrastructure would boost the competitiveness of Beyond.pl’s connectivity offering. Low latency of Hawe Telekom to certain directions will provide Beyond.pl customers direct access to transmission infrastructure that offers optimized latency and top security standards at a facility that is 100 percent powered with green energy.
The business serves as a transit operator, providing data transfer services to Internet service providers, cable TV operators, and phone companies in Poland and internationally. Furthermore, Hawe Telekom’s fiber optic bus connects Poland to network infrastructure in countries like Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Germany. Therefore, network stability and security are crucial factors for Hawe Telekom’s operations.
“We are delighted that we have become the operator of the first choice for Hawe Telekom,” said Wojciech Stramski, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Beyond.pl. “We see our cooperation as especially important because Hawe Telekom’s infrastructure is used to provide communication services to businesses all throughout Poland. This enables us to provide our customers access to services optimized in terms of IT infrastructure colocation and connectivity, which many of our customers view as strategically vital.”
