Databases provide the infrastructure and reliability to scale applications as they grow. Creating and maintaining databases, however, can be a hassle, especially to support the demands of today’s mobile and web applications. Learn how Manhattan College – a small college, Google Apps for Education school, and Google Cloud adopter – is using the Firebase platform to develop its student-built native mobile app. We’ll discuss our approach and demo the app, focusing on the use of Firebase’s realtime database, build-in authentication, and the growing list of complementary services. We’ll then follow up with how this entry point is leading us to integrate deeper with other Google Cloud tools and extending our efforts to Google Assistant.
