IIX, a provider of direct interconnection solutions headquartered in Silicon Valley, has hired Steve Williams as its Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales. Mr. Williams will oversee the expansion of IIX’s global sales team to support growing market demand for secured and scalable direct interconnection across the globe between content providers, cloud hosting application providers and other enterprises.
Prior to joining IIX, Mr. Williams held senior sales leadership positions at Zayo Group, a global provider of telecom infrastructure and colocation services. He was most recently Zayo’s Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales. At Zayo Group, Williams was responsible for building and overseeing several key organizations, including Custom Solutions and Enterprise and Carrier Sales, as well as the company’s first Strategic Channels Organization.

$10.4M in Funding
IIX recently raised $10.4 million in Series A funding from New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and acquired UK software and interconnection company Allegro Networks. The IIX PeeringCloud enables IIX customers to connect to leading Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) via a single interconnection from anywhere in the world. The company’s bypass solution would enable enterprises, content providers, cloud hosting application providers and trading partners to securely and directly connect with one another regardless of their location.
