Through a collaboration with Google Cloud, cybersecurity company Fortinet has extended its SASE Points-of-Presence (POPs) to additional locations. Through this cooperation, Fortinet will be able to take use of Google Cloud’s global network edge locations that are closest to their areas of presence. These sites would provide 99.99% service availability and dedicated interconnect, which will help to expedite the rollout of Fortinet’s Universal SASE solution.
Organizations use single-vendor SASE as a crucial architecture to securely link their heterogeneous workforces. A solid security posture and an excellent user experience would depend on a robust, globally accessible, and scalable network of SASE PoPs.
Michael Xie, the founder, President, and CTO of Fortinet, stated, “By leveraging Google Cloud, Fortinet Universal SASE is even better positioned to serve a more extensive global footprint, ensuring that customers can seamlessly connect and secure their hybrid workforces to critical applications. Through this collaboration, we will increase our worldwide POP capabilities and hasten the adoption of Fortinet’s Universal SASE solution by customers. Furthermore, Fortinet’s global SD-WAN clients now have an even greater potential to embrace integrated cloud-delivered security to create a full Universal SASE solution since our SD-WAN solution is natively linked with our SASE offering.”
According to Muninder Sambi, Vice President and General Manager of Networking at Google Cloud, “Organizations worldwide rely on the Google Cloud for critical networking and access. Our expanded partnership with Fortinet can enable customers to support their hybrid workforces with Fortinet’s SASE solution and benefit from lower costs and better application experiences when using Google Cloud’s Cross-Cloud Network.”
Fortinet Universal SASE
To accommodate today’s hybrid workforce, Fortinet’s Universal SASE solution uniquely combines networking and security. According to Fortinet, it does this by enhancing the digital user experience and offering high return on investment via consolidation, all while extending network edges and new microbranches to provide safe access to apps.
With Fortinet’s solution, businesses can implement and monitor context-based rules regardless of the resource a user is accessing, thanks to an expanded portfolio of essential technologies and services. This would enable enterprises to adopt a zero-trust security posture. In order to provide safe access to corporate, SaaS, and online applications, Fortinet Universal SASE would provide a high-performance and scalable cloud network with best-in-class AI-powered security, unified administration, and end-to-end digital experience monitoring.
Fortinet is a pioneer of secure SD-WAN, the foundation of its Universal SASE solution. For both its cloud-delivered security service edge (SSE) and secure SD-WAN solutions, Universal SASE would leverage the same AI-powered security services and FortiOS operating system. In order to provide seamless connectivity, consistent end-to-end threat protection, and an optimal user experience, this unique integrated approach extends the capabilities of its Universal SASE solution to include secure web gateway (SWG), zero-trust network access (ZTNA), cloud access security broker (CASB), and Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS).
