G-Core Labs Launches Public Cloud PoP in Sydney

G-Core Labs, a global supplier of cloud and edge solutions, has added a new public cloud Point-of-Presence (PoP) in Sydney, Australia, to its global infrastructure. Users now have access to the company’s virtual machines and bare metal servers, providing the platform for “cost-effective operation and quick expansion” for Australian-based enterprises and applications, as well as firms launching activities throughout APAC.

The new location would provide end-users with the lowest latency possible. Users will be able to construct virtual cloud networks, set up private clusters, control loads, and conduct resource-intensive operations in a secured cloud with this new public cloud PoP.

“With the help of our new service, Bare-Metal-as-a-Service, a user can get a ready-to-work dedicated server just as easily as a virtual one,” said Andre Reitenbach, CEO at G-Core Labs.

G-Core Lab’ solution comes with an ecosystem of supplementary services, which includes a CDN and DNS hosting services that are already operational in Australia. Furthermore, customers may instantly access not just virtual machines but also bare metal servers in the G-Core Labs cloud.

“With the help of our new service, Bare-Metal-as-a-Service, a user can get a ready-to-work dedicated server just as easily as a virtual one,” said Andre Reitenbach, CEO at G-Core Labs. “All you need to do is choose the right characteristics, connect a public, private, or several networks at once, and in a few minutes the physical server will be ready to work.”

“Bare metal nodes are suitable for tasks where virtualization is not applicable,” added Mr. Reitenbach. “It includes deployment of resource-intensive applications such as game servers and databases, as well as creation of storage in the public cloud, use as hypervisors and running containers.”

DDoS Protection, Web Application Firewalls

In comparison to virtual computers, bare-metal servers would have an additional benefit: improved security. G-Core Labs adds to this security by merging Intel SGX encryption technology with DDoS protection and Web Application Firewall solutions to safeguard users from all forms of assaults.

G-Core Lab’s recent expansion in Australia is part of the company’s ongoing attempts to establish a global cloud infrastructure. In the APAC area, public clouds are already offered from over 15 other places, including Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, and the cloud and edge specialist is expanding and increasing capacity, with over 40 additional cloud points of presence planned in the near future.
