KHETO Consulting GmbH, a SAP consulting busines based in Cologne, Germany, has been acquired by European managed hosting services provider (MSP), Claranet. KHETO, which focuses on SAP Business Intelligence, was founded in 2005 and provides consulting services to organizations throughout the lifetime of their SAP projects, from strategy alignment to implementation and maintenance.
Claranet is expanding its managed hosting services offering with the acquisition of the Cologne-based firm, which includes the operation of SAP workloads on public clouds.
The acquisition’s strategic goals are to boost the combined companies’ competitiveness, strengthen relationships with SAP and public cloud providers, and provide clients with comprehensive support in the form of consulting and managed services for their IT modernization projects and SAP environments.
“The announcement that SAP will continue to support ‘AnyDB’ only until 2027 has added a new dimension to the entire SAP market. In many upcoming migrations from SAP to S4/HANA, we therefore expect a simultaneous transition to the public cloud platforms of Microsoft, AWS or Google,” said Olaf Fischer, Managing Director at Claranet Germany.
“This expectation is supported not least by the strategic alliance between SAP and Microsoft in their joint ‘Embrace Initiative,’ which also relies on a strong convergence of cloud and SAP. By combining KHETO’s SAP know-how with Claranet’s experience in cloud transformation and managed hosting in public cloud, we can provide customers with optimal cloud-based support on their transition from SAP R/3 to S4/HANA with complete lifecycle support.”
SAP and the Cloud
With an emphasis on SAP Business Intelligence, KHETO was founded in 2005. Its clients are served by the consulting company during the whole lifetime. KHETO has also been a ‘SAP Silver Partner’ since 2017. As a result, all subjects and concerns are handled and resolved, from strategy alignment through advising and implementation to operational support. For a long time, KHETO has had some well-known DAX-listed firms in its customer portfolio.
“The SAP environment, with its new technologies and platforms, is a constantly growing market. KHETO can now expand its portfolio in a targeted way to include these key modernization topics by taking advantage of the synergy with Claranet. Integration of KHETO into the Claranet Group will provide both Claranet and KHETO with a broader spectrum in the SAP market,” said Markus Grimm, one of the two Managing Directors at KHETO. “Thanks to KHETO and its long-standing SAP expertise, Claranet will now focus specifically on SAP cloud migration projects, SAP professional services and SAP Managed Services. In addition, the acquisition provides KHETO’s staff with new perspectives and opportunities in and around SAP and the cloud. As such, the integration of KHETO into the Claranet Group offers enormous potential for all involved.”
