Storage supplier Gladinet, a company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, offering a Dropbox alternative for enterprises and ISP’s, now provides the ability to view and edit documents within the web browser client.
The release of web application integration for Gladinet Cloud storage allows users to open and modify cloud documents using any web browser. Users of the cloud storage access platform will now have the ability to edit documents with for example web applications from Zoho and Microsoft Office Web Apps. Gladinet Cloud Enterprise gives ISP’s and enterprises a self-hosted, brandable Dropbox alternative. The Gladinet Cloud for Service Providers is offered with white-label capabilities.
Gladinet’s CEO, Jerry Huang, stated: “We are pleased to provide our users with the convenience of web application integration. They are no longer required to download native applications for every document type that they want use. Instead, they can use their web browsers to update any document that has an associated web application. It also means that they can avoid the download-modify-upload cycle, if they prefer to edit the document in-place.”
Dropbox, Enterprise Alternative
Founded in 2008, Gladinet is a growing company, with the number of people who have downloaded its cloud storage access software currently approaching 2 million. The company provides a Dropbox alternative that can be deployed privately for enterprises and ISP’s. Gladinet’s partners include Google, EMC, and HP. Its software powers the Nuance Cloud Connector, which converts documents stored in Google Docs, Box.net, Amazon S3 and others.
