HostDime Acquires Plot in Guadalajara, Mexico for New Tier IV Data Center

With the purchase of a three-acre land piece in Guadalajara, Mexico, HostDime has added to its purpose-built, next-generation public data center portfolio. It will be the second data center established by HostDime in Guadalajara. This will be the future home of HostDime Mexico’s new Tier IV facility, which is a rarity in Mexico and Latin America, with an expected completion date of Q4 2023.

The expansion of online gaming, IoT, deployment of 5G, localized in-country computation, and blockchain technologies are all driving unprecedented demand in the Mexican industry, according to HostDime. Guadalajara, Mexico’s second-largest urban center, is in the forefront of this demand across the region. Because of the thousands of tech start-ups in the area, Guadalajara is known as Mexico’s Silicon Valley.

In Mexico, according to HostDime, it will be only the second Tier IV public data center. The facility will be around 70,000 square feet in size and will have a 6MW power infrastructure.

“Our vision from the early days to be a leader in the global data center industry continues to drive us to build these next-gen, purpose-built data center facilities in unique, global edge locations,” said Manny Vivar, CEO and Founder of HostDime Global. “The world is noticing that being on the edge of global locations is the next frontier. HostDime has been making these investments for over a decade to position us to be able to serve the market demand.”

“Our vision from the early days to be a leader in the global data center industry continues to drive us to build these next-gen, purpose-built data center facilities in unique, global edge locations,” said Manny Vivar, CEO and Founder of HostDime Global.

Like HostDime’s new Colombia facility and forthcoming flagship site in Orlando, Florida, HostDime’s upcoming Mexico data center will be Tier IV certified. In its fleet, HostDime exclusively constructs Tier IV data centers as a standard.

Tier IV data centers have the greatest level of accreditation; they are secure, climate-controlled, and highly redundant. Tier IV data centers, sometimes known as the ‘four 9s,’ have 99.99 percent availability and frequently attain 100 percent uptime year after year because to their highly redundant power architecture.

With a current 20,000 square feet building at 85 percent capacity, this will be HostDime’s second carrier-neutral data center in Guadalajara, Mexico. On-net network providers for HostDime Mexico include Marcatel, MetroCarrier, Axtel, TotalPlay, Alestra, Cogent, and Telmex, as well as other top fiber providers in the nation. These are only a few of the on-net providers who will be present in the new facility. This fiber infrastructure will enable clients to interconnect and offer content to over 90% of Mexico’s population at the lowest possible latency.
