Evocative, a hosting provider delivering bare metal servers, private and public cloud, colocation, network and multi-cloud services in five U.S. markets, is showcasing Submer Technologies’ SmartPodX liquid immersion technology during the next several months. The Submer SmartPodX is housed at Evocative’s SV7 facility, located in Silicon Valley, California.
Since 2015, Submer’s multinational team has developed this liquid immersion technology to offer “a safer, more efficient, less expensive, and environmentally friendly” alternative to traditional data center cooling methods.
The Submer SmartPodX is a plug-and-play platform that utilizes Submer’s trademark SmartCoolant to efficiently cool computing infrastructure. The SmartPod design would increase computing density while decreasing energy consumption. According to Submer Technologies, this translates into major savings for data center operators while improving their environmental footprint.
On November 14th, 2019 the two companies have kicked off their partnership at Evocative’s SV7 facility, located in Silicon Valley, California. The companies had a co-branded open house and immersion cooling demo featuring Submer’s signature SmartPodX. The day was composed of data center tours, live immersion cooling demos, and a special guest keynote from Scott Noteboom – the newly appointed CTO of Submer and former Head of Infrastructure Strategy at Apple and Yahoo.
“The SmartPodX is such a monumental leap in cooling efficiency, you have to see it to believe it,” said Jeff Brown, Managing Director, North America at Submer. “That’s why we are partnering with industry visionaries like Evocative to host educational demonstrations across the globe.”
High-Performance Data Centers
Evocative provides hosting, colocation, network, and multi-cloud services in five U.S. markets including Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas and Reston, Virginia.
“We are excited to be at the forefront of this revolutionary technological innovation,” said Arman Khalili, CEO of Evocative. “Our partnership with Submer Technologies is just the first step towards promoting the next generation of efficient and high-performance data centers, a mission Evocative is very proud to be a part of.”
The announcement follows the news of Submer Technologies moving its headquarters in August this year from Spain to Ashburn, Virginia, in the heart of ‘Data Center Alley.’
Earlier this month, Evocative Data Centers completed a $30 million debt and preferred equity investment led by Crestline Investors. Crestline’s investment would enable Evocative to accelerate their growth plans. The company has planned to deploy the capital into future acquisitions and growth initiatives.
