After European hosting companies Combell Group and Trans IP Group agreed to a merger in June this year while rebranding their activities under the name team.blue, the newly created company has now acquired Register Group – an Italy-based provider of web hosting services to professionals. Register Group manages a variety of web hosting brands, serves more than 750,000 customers and has 420 employees working in their offices across Europe.
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. After completing the transaction, the group will achieve an annual turnover of € 275 million in total. It would also further strengthen its market position in various European countries. team.blue now serves more than 2 million hosting customers in Europe and has more than 1,000 experts to support them.
As a leading company in the European domain name and web hosting market, Register Group is headquartered in Milan, Italy. The company has a variety of offices located across Italy. As well as in France, Portugal, UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Its domain and web hosting brands incluxe Register.it, Sfera, Etinet and Dominiando, Namesco, Simply Hosting, Tagadab, LCN, Register365, LetsHost, Hosting Ireland, Nominalia, Dominios.pt, Iberweb and the Amen brands.
Hg, a strategic investor in both team.blue and Register Group, will continue to invest in the new group. Hg is supporting team.blue with sector knowledge and operational expertise.
