LeaseWeb, one of the world’s largest hosting brands with solutions including bare metal dedicated servers and cloud, has announced the appointment of Michael Tobin, former CEO of TeleCityGroup, and Wilco Jiskoot, former member of the ABN AMRO Board of Directors and adviser for AAC Capital Partners, to its newly installed Advisory Board. The appointments are aimed at further global growth of the LeaseWeb brand.

LeaseWeb has experienced exceptional growth in recent years. The company had record earnings this past year and has doubled its workforce since 2011. LeaseWeb currently has data centers at ten locations around the world, including Asia, Europe and the United States.

In order to position the company for the future and create further significant growth, LeaseWeb has decided to establish this Advisory Council. The newly installed Advisory Council has to guide and support the company’s management team in its endeavor to realize an ambitious strategy for growth.

“We are very pleased that these specialists can support us with their advice and that they are happy to share their broad professional knowledge with us,” said Con Zwinkels, co-founder of LeaseWeb.

“Our vision for the future is centered on increasing the depth and breadth of our services, tapping into new markets and expanding geographical locations,” said Con Zwinkels, co-founder of LeaseWeb. “We are very pleased that these specialists can support us with their advice and that they are happy to share their broad professional knowledge with us. This will enable us to keep ourselves sharp and maintain focus, while we continually protect our identity and integrity for further international growth.”

The Advisory Council shall serve as a high-level sounding board and will study the environment in which all LeaseWeb entities operate – “from an objective, strategic and international perspective.”

The announcement follows the news that LeaseWeb added a third data center location in the U.S. to its global data center portfolio. With existing U.S. data centers in Washington, D.C., and San Jose, Calif., this new Dallas-based data center expands LeaseWeb USA’s partnership with Equinix and the Equinix Marketplace.
