Huawei and SUSE are collaborating to include SUSE Linux Enterprise Server as the operating environment in Huawei’s new SAP HANA Appliance Solution. The combination of Huawei’s SAP HANA appliance and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server would speed up real-time data analysis and processing for enterprise customers, thus improving their decision-making capabilities and making their businesses more responsive and agile.Â
The new solution is Huawei’s new-generation mission-critical server designed for essential workloads such as business databases, decision support and business processing. The solution is based on RAS 2.0 high-reliability hardware with software technologies including kPar hard partition, CPU and memory module hot plug, and fault early warning.
To ensure high reliability and minimize downtime, SUSE worked with Huawei to develop cost-based SAP HANA multi-layer high availability scenarios and provide solutions like system security reinforcement for SAP HANA applications, in addition to original support for performance-based high availability solutions.
SUSE Linux Enterprise kernel page cache module and related kernel parameters have also been optimized to substantially improve the performance of SAP HANA running on the Huawei appliance.

SUSE and Huawei plan to maintain their close cooperation on SAP HANA solutions to meet customer demand for “secure, high-performance” customized solutions.
