Huawei Introduces Storage Portfolio for Diverse Data Applications in Europe

HUAWEI

Huawei has unveiled its ‘data-centric’ approach for the data storage market at Huawei Connect 2022 Paris.

Dr. Assaf Natanzon, Chief Architect of Huawei Data Storage
“Huawei Data Storage is committed to building a data-centric, trustworthy storage foundation for diverse applications to unleash data productivity,” said Dr. Assaf Natanzon, Chief Architect of Huawei Data Storage.

Additionally, it unveiled storage products and solutions tailored to certain scenarios in an effort to boost data efficiency for European businesses.

“We hope to share Huawei’s storage insights with our European partners and customers, and we are also firmly going in this direction,” said Dr. Assaf Natanzon, Chief Architect of Huawei Data Storage.

“In this era of data explosion, data applications are booming. Huawei Data Storage is committed to building a data-centric, trustworthy storage foundation for diverse applications to unleash data productivity.”

According to Dr. Assaf Natanzon, the digital age is bringing about three significant developments in data storage:

  • Data application possibilities will become increasingly varied when big data, distributed databases, and AI technologies are combined
  • The demand for real-time data analytics and processing is increasing as data becomes hotter
  • Digital enterprise resilience would be more crucial than ever

Huawei follows the ‘data-centric’ philosophy and introduces scenario-specific storage products and solutions in response to the evolution of storage to support Europe’s digital transformation.

Multi-Cloud

For cloud transition, a mix of public and private multi-clouds is ideal. The best multi-cloud architecture for businesses would be one that uses cross-cloud application deployment and centralized data storage sharing. This “cutting-edge” procedure is being followed by Huawei Storage.

Production and Transactions

In particular, financial core banking systems and hospital information systems would benefit from OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage’s superior SAN and NAS capabilities and performance (HIS). Both NAS and SAN take advantage of the full-mesh SmartMatrix architecture and the FlashLink disk-controller cooperation algorithms. Additionally, OceanStor Dorado would offer one of the first active-active NAS solutions in the sector.

Data Analytics

Using architecture innovations like data flow that adapts to large and small I/Os, ultra-high-density hardware, and Erasure Coding (EC) algorithms, OceanStor Pacific Scale-Out Storage would eliminate data analytics performance, protocol, and capacity bottlenecks. This would increase the data analysis processing efficiency by over 30 percent, according to Huawei.

Data Protection

Huawei Storage would provide comprehensive data protection. The vendor from China offers a variety of disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including local high availability (HA), intra-city active-active, and geo-redundant 3DC. OceanProtect would offer high backup capacity and recovery bandwidth, and a maximum “72:1 data reduction ratio” for backing up service data. With a “99 percent” detection rate, the Huawei Ransomware Protection Storage Solution would protect both primary and backup storage and employ machine learning models to identify ransomware.
