NewCloud Networks, a supplier of cloud services, has been acquired by Otava, a global provider of compliant hybrid cloud solutions. The purchase of NewCloud Networks expands Otava’s solution offering, provides a countrywide 10Gb network, and expands Otava’s geographic presence, bringing the total number of its cloud nodes accessible to eighteen worldwide.

The acquisition brings almost a third more employees to Otava, as well as a growing network of enterprise and channel clients. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As a result of the acquisition, Otava now has a broad product portfolio that includes security services, cloud backup, disaster recovery, remote desktop, production cloud, and a full managed security toolset. Clients may now purchase solutions online through a simple shop thanks to NewCloud’s on-demand webstore. Furthermore, the firm offers Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solutions for safe administration of today’s distributed workforce settings.

“The ability to secure IT environments is one of the greatest challenges facing organizations today,” said Phil Shih, Managing Director at Industry Analyst firm Structure Research. “The combination of NewCloud, one of the top Veeam data protection partners, and Otava with its secure and compliant Gen3 Cloud Platform, is powerful in this space. Customers will benefit not only from an advanced hybrid cloud hosting solution, but also from the complementary, easy to integrate business continuity and security services that protect their businesses.”

Schurz Communications

NewCloud Networks and the NewCloud brand will continue to operate independently as ‘NewCloud, an Otava Company’ under Otava’s parent company, Schurz Communications, for the duration of 2021. This strategy will guarantee that existing support and services are maintained, as well as a concentrated emphasis on each customer and partner relationship during the transition. Effective immediately, all current and potential customers will have full access to both firms’ integrated product offerings.

“We are thrilled to expand our cloud portfolio with the addition of NewCloud,” said Todd Schurz, President and CEO of Schurz Communications. “Otava is quickly advancing its position in the market by hiring talented staff and launching innovative products and services while maintaining its focus on delivering exceptional experiences. These great organizations together will create significant benefits and opportunities for their growing base of customers.”
