3W Infra, an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) hosting provider from Amsterdam with an international client-base and more than 4,000 dedicated servers under management, has announced the launch of its AMD EPYC processor dedicated server packages. These dedicated servers are based on the latest server technology. AMD EPYC would provide 3W Infra clients with “higher core counts, memory capabilities and memory bandwidth leading to remarkable I/O performance.”

As a “pure-play” IaaS hosting provider with a focus on delivering custom-engineered hosting solutions, 3W Infra has thoroughly tested the new server hardware and expects the servers, in combination with the processors, to cater to its customers’ efficiency and performance needs, also the most demanding ones.

“Our engineers have run multiple tests with AMD EPYC-powered servers on the test bench in our data center in Amsterdam and they found significant performance test results,” said Roy Premchand, Managing Director of 3W Infra.

“Our engineers have run multiple tests with AMD EPYC-powered servers on the test bench in our data center in Amsterdam and they found significant performance test results,” said Roy Premchand, Managing Director of 3W Infra. “AMD EPYC surpasses the capabilities of competing processors. With the availability of the massive number of PCI-e lanes, these servers provide a lot more storage and network throughput per socket. Also, the fact that the new AMD EPYC processor contains hardware support for both AES encryption and SHA-2 encoding makes it a good candidate for hosting VPN services.”

“The embedded security processor helps shield client systems, working to keep software and data safe, perfectly balanced compute usage I would say,” added Mr. Premchand. “AMD EPYC allows bigger workloads to run on smaller servers while fewer sockets are required to reach an equal performance. This results in significant savings on your workloads at an attractive price/performance ratio. This would make the new server solutions ideal for applications like cloud computing, software defined infrastructures and high-performance computing (HPC), also within demanding industries like gaming and financial services”.

Customized Dedicated Servers

“Where the competition standardizes on certain AMD EPYC server configurations, our customers can go all the way with fully customized deployments,” added Premchand. “No matter the AMD EPYC processor model or whether the server needs to be equipped with enterprise SSD’s or NVMe, to name just a few options”.

3W Infra will be offering the AMD EPYC-powered dedicated servers in combination with their Financing Program. 3W Infra’s Financing Program would feature flexible installment schemes with installment plans up to 36-month periods (lease-to-own) and financially “attractive” purchasing models. The latter provides customers the opportunity to obtain full ownership of the hardware from day one.

The new server solutions are located in 3W Infra’s flagship data center in Amsterdam – an Equinix IBX with scalable power modules starting at 10 Ampere per cabinet up to 25 Ampere for high-density requirements.
