Lenovo and SimpliVity have announced a partnership to deliver hyper-converged data center infrastructure solutions based on their joint technologies. SimpliVity’s OmniStack data virtualization platform will now be available as an integrated data center solution with Lenovo System x3650 servers through distributing partner Arrow Electronics. The solution will be offered through their North American channel in Q4 2015.

The SimpliVity OmniStack Solution running on Lenovo System x3650 M5 is a hyper-converged IT platform that provides all IT services below the hypervisor, including compute, storage, and networking, real-time data deduplication, compression, and optimization functions along with built-in backup, disaster recovery, and WAN optimization capabilities all in a single device.

“Customers will benefit from SimpliVity’s new hyper-converged solution offerings, with Lenovo’s highly versatile enterprise servers as a foundation,” said Brian Hamel, vice president and general manager, Lenovo North America Enterprise Business Group. “These high-performance systems will exponentially reduce data center complexity and costs for cloud-based services and mission-critical transactional systems.”

Key benefits of the SimpliVity OmniStack Solution with Lenovo would include:

  • Simplified IT and 3x TCO savings through hyper-convergence
  • Improved performance for mission-critical applications combined with “40:1 average” data efficiency
  • Enhanced ability to meet RPO and RTO objectives
  • Improved IT agility with VM-centric management approach

“The partnership and joint solution is truly driven by customer demand in the market,” said Doron Kempel, CEO of SimpliVity. “Businesses desire the flexibility and performance of the Lenovo systems and the superior data efficiency, mobility, built-in data protection and global unified management capabilities that only SimpliVity’s hyperconverged solutions deliver.”
