International Manufacturer WinGroup Chooses to Implement IFS Applications 9 as Its Cloud Based ERP Platform

WinGroup, a manufacturer of aluminum-framed glazing systems for the building market, has chosen to implement IFS Applications 9 as its central cloud hosting-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform. The solution will be deployed in the IFS Managed Cloud on Microsoft Azure.

Through its units in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the UK, and Turkey, WinGroup produces systems for residential glazing, balcony glazing, conservatories, railings, and windows. WinGroup, which is controlled by Swedish investment company Nordstjernan AB, was formed in 2007 through a number of acquisitions and has since seen successful growth on the global market, employing some 400 people.

Looking to accelerate its growth and operational excellence, the company was in need of a central ERP system to unify its core business processes across its international engineering, production, and sales units. Following a thorough evaluation process, the company selected IFS Applications 9 to replace its various legacy systems and provide a common platform for managing its product portfolio.

ifs_managed_cloud_erp“We needed a leading business system and referred to prominent analysts such as Gartner for advice,” said Anders Knutsson, CEO of WinGroup. “We selected IFS Applications because of its robust industry-specific functionality coupled with the IFS team’s deep business understanding and strong implementation skills and experience. By deploying IFS Applications as our central platform, we will be able to rapidly realize benefits such as harmonized processes and operational efficiency gains, allowing for flexible management of our future customer expectations and product portfolio. These are important strategic parameters in our future growth plan.”

The IFS solution includes functionality supporting complex manufacturing, supply chain management, engineering, sales configuration management, project management, and finance. IFS Applications will be deployed in the IFS Managed Cloud on Microsoft Azure, IFS’s fully managed, single-tenant cloud hosting offering. The implementation project, involving global resources from both IFS and WinGroup, will start immediately at the project office in Malmö, Sweden.

“Companies such as WinGroup that compete based on a strong product portfolio supported by an efficient global sales and supply chain network can rely on our solutions to enhance strategic capabilities and meet changing future customer demands,” said Glenn Arnesen, CEO of IFS Scandinavia. “Leveraging IFS Applications 9 and the scalable architecture of the IFS Managed Cloud, we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with WinGroup.”
