IP Infusion Selected by Netomnia for New Full-Fiber Network Across the UK

Netomnia, a full-fiber network operator targeting under-served towns and cities across the United Kingdom, has selected IP Infusion’s turnkey networking solution (IP Infusion PRO). It is part of their plan to deliver multi-gigabit broadband to one million premises by 2023.

Headquartered in Santa Clara, California, IP Infusion provides network operating system (OS) solutions for today’s networks, allowing network operators to cut costs, improve flexibility, and quickly deploy new features and services.

IP Infusion’s carrier-grade disaggregated networking technologies would enable network operators to develop new income streams and offer innovative services. It supports a wide range of networking use cases thanks to its verified network operating system and best-of-breed hardware. Network operators may smoothly shift to an end-to-end disaggregated networking solution “with lower TCO” using IP Infusion’s turnkey solutions, which include hardware and software as well as sophisticated support services.

Netomnia is embarking on a large expansion plan to construct a robust, reliable network across the United Kingdom with industry-leading speeds. They wanted a partner that could deliver a cost-effective network software and hardware solution that could be deployed quickly. Netomnia is eliminating traditional integration and operational pain points with IP Infusion PRO solutions that integrate OcNOS, a scalable network operating system, on web-scale open switching platforms from Edgecore Networks, and channeling resources to accelerate deployment and launch value-add services to their clients.

“Our lean and scalable operating model allows us to rapidly deploy our network to provide homes and businesses with a reliable, high quality and high-speed Internet connections,” said Feka Samakuva, Director of Networks at Netomnia. “IP Infusion provided us with a flexible, turnkey solution that simplifies our operation, along with excellent single-point of contact support that we needed to help expand our network.”

“IP Infusion PRO removes the top barriers that help service providers, like Netomnia, to adopt and accelerate network disaggregation,” said Atsushi Ogata, President and CEO at IP Infusion.

“Service providers, such as Netomnia, are benefiting from the industry’s move to disaggregated networking,” said Stéphane Téral, Chief Analyst, LightCounting Market Research. “They will be able to get to market faster and bring more innovative services to their customers at a fast pace. IP Infusion’s leadership in the disaggregated networking space is accelerating the adoption of this novel approach for service providers.”

OcNOS is a full-featured modular extendable network OS for white box open networking solutions, including sophisticated switching and routing features such as MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), PTP (Precision Timing Protocol), and APIs/protocols for SDN (Software Defined Networking). OcNOS comes with support for hybrid, centralized, and dispersed networks, as well as a scalable, modular high-performance network and a reliable data plane based on merchant silicon.

“We are pleased to work with IP Infusion on this disaggregated networking solution which will help Netomnia to reach their goal to deliver multi-gigabit broadband to one million premises by 2023,” said Heimdall Siao, President at Edgecore Networks. “Our best-in-class peering router design coupled with IP Infusion’s OcNOS will allow Netomnia to expand its network capacity seamlessly and take advantage of the benefits of open networking and improve Netomnia’s total cost of ownership.”

“IP Infusion PRO removes the top barriers that help service providers, like Netomnia, to adopt and accelerate network disaggregation,” said Atsushi Ogata, President and CEO at IP Infusion. “Netomnia is joining service providers around the world who want to take advantage of the agility and scalability of disaggregated networking without relying on traditional networks to deliver innovative services for their customers.”
