IP Infusion’s OcNOS Networking Software Expands Fujitsu’s Toolbox for 5G

IP Infusion

IP Infusion, a provider of open network software and solutions for carriers, service providers and data center operators, has signed a strategic alliance with Fujitsu Network Communications. As per the agreement, IP Infusion’s OcNOS software and whitebox hardware package will be added to Fujitsu Network Communications’ optical and packet networking offering.

Through this partnership, packet network owners would be able to better facilitate openness and scalability across a variety of use cases.

With the help of IP Infusion’s OcNOS software, Fujitsu Network Communications has expanded its transport portfolio, giving network operators and service providers access to an open, affordable, and scalable edge transport solution. The service makes use of open optics, the most recent open whitebox hardware, and the Virtuora Network Control Solution from Fujitsu Network Communications.

“IP Infusion’s strategic alliance with Fujitsu Network Communications opens up mobile networks,” said Atsushi Ogata, President and CEO at IP Infusion.

Cell site routing (CSR) operation with seamless migration for 4G and 5G transport is made possible by this adaptable service. The collaborative solution from IP Infusion and Fujitsu Network Communications would further validate 5G open networking for software-defined Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN).

“IP Infusion’s OcNOS networking software platform expands the Fujitsu Network Communications transport toolbox to support any 5G mobile xHaul and aggregation configuration,” said Paul Havala, Head of the Optical Business Division at Fujitsu Network Communications. “This newest offering combined with our Smart xHaul solutions toolbox delivers up to 70% reduction in total cost of ownership for mobile operators, while positioning them to provide transport for emerging private 5G, enterprise, and i4.0 applications.”

Mobile Network Innovation

“IP Infusion’s strategic alliance with Fujitsu Network Communications opens up mobile networks to accelerate innovation,” said Atsushi Ogata, President and CEO at IP Infusion.Fujitsu Network Communications’ strong market presence in North America expands the market for OcNOS, while clearly differentiating Fujitsu Network Communications’ transport offering.”

Over the past year, IP Infusion has significantly gained traction in addition to extending the Fujitsu Network Communications 5G transport solution and having hundreds of successful global deployments. For the second year in a row, IP Infusion was recognized as a Leader, Outperformer, and Platform participant in GigaOm’s recently published Network Operating System (NOS) Radar Report.

With its headquarters in Santa Clara, California, IP Infusion is a totally owned and independently run subsidiary of ACCESS CO., LTD. Their solutions would enable network operators to disaggregate their networks to accelerate innovation, streamline operations, and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
