Iron Networks, a Fremont, California-based Microsoft OEM and Fast Track partner that delivers turnkey networking and infrastructure platforms for Microsoft-based cloud-optimized data centers, has announced the release of their Microsoft Cloud Edge Gateway (MCE) product family.
The Microsoft Cloud Edge product family is an evolutionary progression from the prior Iron Networks Unified Remote Access family of products, adding WAN Optimization, Multi-Tenancy and Cloud Gateway feature sets which provides a complete and scalable private cloud access solution.
The features of the MCE include Microsoft technologies including Multi-Site DirectAccess and Site-to-Site VPN, Microsoft Software-defined Hyper-V Virtual Networking (NVGRE), Microsoft Unified Access Gateway (UAG), Microsoft Threat Management Gateway (TMG), Azure Cloud Gateway and others, and also include WAN optimization and public cloud connectivity technologies from RiverBed, SilverPeak and Amazon AWS.
The product can be configured to meet client-specific requirements by adding individual feature packs to fit customers unique business needs, each function independently as virtual machine appliances within the MCE clustered environment. The extensive use of virtualization technologies makes the product scalable and elastic to meet modern data center best practices.

The MCE platform offers a comprehensive remote access and cloud connectivity software bundle in a single clustered (cluster in a box) or multi-unit highly scalable hardware products powered by 100% Microsoft Windows Server and Storage technologies.
