Tieto, an IT services company offering data center and cloud services in the Nordics, has signed an agreement with data center operator Green Mountain Data Centre to offer local and highly secured data center services to customers in Norway.
Green Mountain Data Centre, based on the island of Rennesøy in Rogaland, Norway, is naturally cooled and protected by the rocky environment in a former NATO bunker. Inside a mountain in a Norwegian fjord in Stavanger, it is a highly energy-efficient colocation facility that uses only local, renewable energy. This green data center reckons the largest bank in Norway, DNB, to its clients.
“In many ways, data is the ‘new oil’ and we can clearly see that demand for local and secure data centre and cloud solutions is increasing,” said Ari Karppinen, Head of Managed Services, Tieto. “Our delivery is based on a hybrid cloud model, where secure local private cloud services and global public cloud services are combined to drive the modernization of IT applications and infrastructure. Tieto delivers green, high-quality data centre and cloud services to the public and private sectors across the Nordic countries. This is an important step for helping our customers to renew their business and for strengthening our growth in the region.”
