Automattic, the company behind Jetpack, WordPress.com, and WooCommerce, has announced a strategic partnership with MilesWeb – a provider of managed WordPress hosting in India. This is Jetpack’s first partnership in India, and represents a new opportunity to extend the reach of open source software into further parts of the globe.
Customers of MilesWeb will now automatically receive either ‘Jetpack Premium’ or ‘Jetpack Professional’ at no extra cost, depending on their plan. Jetpack provides WordPress users with free tools to design, promote, and increase the security of their websites. Jetpack’s Premium and Professional plans would additionally provide access to on-demand backups with one-click restores, malware scanning, spam filtering, an image and video content delivery network, monetization tools, and priority support.
“Jetpack provides a wealth of benefits,” said MilesWeb’s founder and director, Chetan Mahale, regarding the launch. “CDN, in-depth website statistics, downtime monitoring, and many other enhancements brought us to partner with Jetpack and offer something different to our WordPress users in India.”
The Premium and Professional plans offered by Jetpack are provided for free to current and new MilesWeb customers.
“We are very excited to expand the presence of Jetpack in India,” said James Grierson, Global Partnerships Lead at Jetpack. “This emerging market is one the largest for internet expansion and we are happy to see MilesWeb leading the way by offering one of the most powerful managed WordPress hosting solutions by partnering with Jetpack.”
