Juniper Networks and Fujitsu have signed a partnership for the supply of high-performance ethernet switches for Fujitsu Server PRIMERGY, Fujitsu Storage ETERNUS and Fujitsu Integrated System PRIMEFLEX portfolio across the EMEA region. PRIMERGY is Fujitsu’s brand for x86-architecture designed servers.
Fujitsu and its partner ecosystem are delivering all sales, deployment, services and a single point of contact to clients for select Juniper switches. The Juniper-enabled solution’’s overall availability (GA) began in EMEA on 26 March 2021.
As a global pioneer in networking cloud and data centers, automated operations and AI, Juniper Networks will help Fujitsu and its clients address network issues related to network agility, software-defined networking (SDN) and edge computing.
“Building the right architectural foundation is the key to creating a successful data-driven enterprise. It involves efficient data management across edge, core and cloud,” said Olivier Delachapelle, EMEA Head of Product Line Management, Fujitsu. “Juniper Networks is demonstrably one of the top players in all of these areas, thus their switching portfolio was a natural choice. This is only a start, as we see much more potential in their overall enterprise portfolio – notably with Juniper’s recent acquisition of Apstra in mind- and we expect more synergies between us in the future.”
Data Center Connectivity
According to Fujitsu, the strategy of Juniper Networks is the appropriate way to complement the data driven goal of Fujitsu: to leverage the ability of Juniper to develop data-driven networks that provide intelligence and operational insight in a secure way. In order to produce high performance servers, storage and integrated systems platforms that provide best client experience, Fujitsu may concentrate on its own product range.
“Many enterprises are now moving their IT workloads and applications to a multicloud environment to ensure agile, scalable and cost-effective business operations,” said Thomas Desrues, Vice President, Strategic Alliances, Juniper Networks. “This migration calls for simplified, open and secure data center connectivity that enables easily-managed, unified compute, storage and network infrastructure. Fujitsu and Juniper have a shared vision to deliver flexible and consumable end-to-end solutions in support of this need.”
The Juniper Networks QFX Series, especially the QFX5120, will mainly support Fujitsu’s solutions as an economical, versatile and yet small device that provides next-generation features such as network virtualization within big, higher-density IP fabrics. Fujitsu will also utilize its solution for changing small-scale data center settings using Juniper Networks EX series Ethernet Switch.
