Global managed WordPress hosting firm Kinsta has introduced Application Hosting and Database Hosting. Kinsta enters a new phase as a cloud platform with the addition of these two services to its managed WordPress hosting package, giving developers and companies greater freedom than ever before to operate robust applications, websites, databases, and services.
Thanks to the company’s new Platform-as-a-Service model, clients of Kinsta can now run their applications using programming languages and frameworks including Node.js, PHP, Python, Go, Ruby, Java, and Scala, by automatically setting up a container image or by using their own unique Dockerfiles to run almost any application. In order to automate deployments of source code to the Kinsta infrastructure, they may also link with GitHub.
Customers of Kinsta can quickly create databases using MariaDB, Redis, MySQL, and PostgreSQL under their new database hosting service, and they can also establish internal connections with their apps in the same cluster for the best speed and security. According to Kinsta, they would get the ability to easily build a strong ecosystem of applications and databases.
“The launch of Kinsta’s Application Hosting and Database Hosting opens the doors to so many creative possibilities,” said Jenna Recktenwald, DevOps Team Lead at Kinsta. “I’m eager to see what our clients create with it and how they drive our platform development further. And we get the privilege of building the infrastructure on the latest and best hardware and technology stacks.”
Both of the new services will rely on Kinsta’s infrastructure, which would offer “top-tier” speed supported by Google Kubernetes Engine, while enabling developers to launch projects quickly by eliminating superfluous features. According to Kinsta, utilization-based pricing enables developers to launch projects for about $0.027/hour.
Developers and teams may streamline administration with the integration of these services and Kinsta’s unique MyKinsta management panel. Users can let Kinsta handle the heavy lifting, including deployments and security, rather than investing time and money configuring servers and containers.
“We’re building a platform where developers can find everything they need to run a web service with ease,” said Mark Gavalda, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Kinsta. “This way they can focus on creating and sharing their best work with the world.”
“I hope our customers will enjoy our new services as much as we enjoyed building them,” said Kristof Dombi, Head of Development Operations at Kinsta. “They unlock a new chapter in Kinsta’s future which we couldn’t be more excited about! The build environment of our new Application Hosting supports Dockerfile-based cloud-native applications. It’ll enable you to build & host almost anything with us in a fast, reliable, and secure way.”
