KoçSistem selects Virtustream xStream Software to Power its Enterprise-Grade Cloud in Turkey

Virtustream, provider of xStream cloud management platform (CMP) software, has been selected by KoçSistem, one of Turkey’s largest cloud hosting providers and IT consultancy companies, to provide enterprise-grade cloud technologies for cloud services to Turkey’s growing cloud computing market.

KoçSistem will integrate Virtustream’s xStream cloud management software across its software integration, business application and data center/cloud hosting services units, the latter of which is one of the largest in Turkey.

According to industry research firm IDC, Turkey’s cloud market doubled from 2012 to 2014 and is expected to grow even more in coming years.

“There has been a dramatic shift in Turkey’s IT market in recent years, and cloud has decidedly emerged as the dominant force in computing,” said Gökalp Bahçeli, Assistant General Manager at KoçSistem. “We have succeeded in taking a leadership role in the country’s growing enterprise cloud market thus far, but it’s absolutely critical that we find the right partner that possesses both a deep and proven domain expertise in this realm as well as the ability to scale seamlessly as demand continues to grow. In Virtustream, we have found just such a partner.”

Koç Holding Company

Based in Istanbul, Turkey, KoçSistem was founded in 1945 as an extension of Koç Holding Company, a large industrial conglomerate in Turkey. KoçSistem operates three data centers within the country. Via its technology integration with Virtustream, KoçSistem will unveil a new, usage-based pricing model for Turkish enterprises.

“Turkey is currently one of the more dynamic – and currently underserved – markets in the entire world when it comes to enterprise class cloud adoption,” said Rodney Rogers, CEO at Virtustream. “KoçSistem is a proven and well-respected company that has evolved with the Turkish technology market for more than a half-century. We see this as a perfect partnership that will enable them to continue doing just that, while also allowing Virtustream to establish a broader footprint in Turkey.”
