Latest Version Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Brings Enhanced Control

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 version 6 is now generally available. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v6 would bring greater control and enhanced recovery capabilities for critical data.

Users may back up to any place, including on-premises, in a hyperscale cloud, or with a service provider, using this backup and recovery solution for Microsoft 365. New capabilities in v6 would save IT departments time and money by reducing the number of recovery requests. They would also save money since backups in the latest software version are more efficient, according to Veeam.

Recoveries of Emails, Files, and other Data

Inadvertent deletions are cited as the primary reason for securing Microsoft 365 by 50 percent of backup and SaaS admins, who see the time spent recovering user data as a pain point owing to frequent accidental deletions.

The latest version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, version 6, adds a self-service restoration gateway for Microsoft 365 environments, allowing IT managers to securely delegate recoveries of emails, files, and other data from a single centralized place. Restore scenarios such as basic user deletions will not require the aid of an IT administrator and may be completed independently by users or outsourced to a group of restore operators without requiring direct access to the backup server, saving time while ensuring administrative security.

In November 2016, Veeam launched the first version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. Veeam’s position in the Microsoft 365 backup market would be bolstered by this latest release’s continuing innovation.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is for IT departments that utilize Microsoft 365 as well as Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partners that wish to provide Microsoft 365 backup services to their clients.
