Leaseweb Adds Zerto-based DRaaS, Announces MSP Partnership for UK Market

Cloud and hosting service provider Leaseweb has expanded its services with Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS). This new service is based on Zerto’s technology and offers Leaseweb’s customers a solution for making business-critical applications and data more resilient. At the same time, Leaseweb has unveiled its partnership with Flexiion MSP – to offer UK online SMEs “a dedicated and comprehensive” cloud infrastructure managed service.

Leaseweb’s DRaaS solution would be interesting for the type of customer that places high demands on the availability of its network and applications, for example for companies active in online gaming or ecommerce. This DRaaS solution would fit organizations requiring something more than a traditional back up environment.

Besides webshops and online gaming companies, the DRaaS solution would also be interesting for MSPs providing cloud services to their customers. It will enable them to guarantee business continuity for their customers.

An important advantage of Zerto, according to Leaseweb, is that the replication of data for backup requires virtually no resources from the production environment. In addition, Zerto is one of the few suppliers to have started with disaster recovery, after which the product portfolio was expanded with backup solutions.

“By partnering with Flexiion MSP we are able to deliver a comprehensive managed service that offers an appropriate and affordable option for UK online SMEs looking to optimize the way they manage their cloud infrastructure,” said Eltjo Hofstee, Managing Director of Leaseweb UK.

Leaseweb also announced its partnership with Flexiion MSP to offer UK-based SMEs a dedicated and comprehensive cloud infrastructure managed service. This new service will enable these organizations to focus on the core functionality and customer value of their ecommerce platforms, “free of the distractions” that would be part and parcel of routine cloud infrastructure management.

“For over 20 years, Leaseweb has been a leading provider of hosting and cloud services to a wide range of organizations,” said Eltjo Hofstee, Managing Director of Leaseweb UK. “In recent months we’ve seen an emerging opportunity amongst smaller, medium size businesses looking to implement a cloud-based hosted infrastructure strategy combined with a managed service offering that will enable them to reduce the burden of day-to-day routine cloud infrastructure management. By partnering with Flexiion MSP we are able to address this market need and deliver a comprehensive managed service that offers an appropriate and affordable option for UK online SMEs looking to optimize the way they manage their cloud infrastructure.”

As an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider, Leaseweb serves a worldwide portfolio of 17,500 customers. It operates 19 data centers in locations across Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, all of which are backed by a worldwide network with a total capacity of more than 5.5 Tbps.

“Many UK SMEs are today building and running ‘always-on’ ecommerce platforms,” said James Osborn, CEO of Flexiion MSP. “Their core business focus, therefore, is the customer functionality and value within the e-commerce solution, not the underlying infrastructure on which it’s run. At Flexiion MSP we specialize in providing these types of ambitious companies with a personalized managed service, so they can get the cloud-based hosted infrastructure mix that works for them when they need it, but without the ongoing, resource-intensive management required to achieve it.”
