File & ServeXpress has selected the managed cloud hosting services of hosting provider Logicworks. File & ServeXpress is headquartered in Irving, Texas and delivers legal e-Filing, bridging the gap of secure exchange of legal documents between the legal and judicial communities across the United States.
At the cross-roads of the legal and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industries, File & ServeXpress developed an aggressive timeline for transitioning their product to a SAS 70, SSAE 16 and Safe Harbor state of the art, fully redundant data center. File & ServeXpress was formed in November 2012, from the merger of CaseFileXpress, LP and File & Serve, a former LexisNexis company. As a result of the merger, File & ServeXpress had an aggressive time-to-production goal.
Greater stability and security
File & ServeXpress’ applications required 24×7 operational availability to support the vast needs of supporting over 165,000 clients, 45 million documents and over 300 jurisdictions nationally including statewide installations in Delaware, Texas and Washington DC. The partnership with Logicworks would enables File & ServeXpress to achieve greater stability and security essential to supporting their legal clients.
For Logicworks, part of the scope of the project included migrating a massive archive of documents from the previous data center to a parallel storage platform. Logicworks leveraged their position as an EMC Velocity Partner to offer a joint professional services and managed storage solution to ensure the integrity of the File & ServeXpress data archive during the migration. Due to the crucial deadlines inherent within the legal and judiciary processes and the importance of the documents to File & ServeXpress’ clientele, compliance with industry best practices were central to File & ServeXpress choosing Logicworks as a business partner.
Scalable hosting solution
Logicworks delivered a customized, fully-tailored cloud computing, managed hosting, and managed colocation solution that allows File & ServeXpress to run a complex multitenant SaaS application. Due to the nature of case documents, File & ServeXpress had rigorous security and data integrity requirements.
The hosting provider engineered a scalable solution including a hybrid of physical IT infrastructure, private cloud computing, and a geographically diverse data recovery site. Logicworks has also acted as an extension of File & ServeXpress’ internal IT operations, providing project management throughout the migration process helping File & ServeXpress realize maximum infrastructure efficiency to support growth in its market space.
