Legrand Adds Configure-to-Order Data Center Cabinets to Its Portfolio

After initially introducing the Nexpand data center cabinet platform through its subsidiary brand Minkels in 2019, Legrand has now added the configure-to-order cabinet platform to the Legrand portfolio. Legrand claims the new cabinet offering to be flexible, sturdy, and secure for housing data center appliances.

“The Nexpand cabinet offers a single, configure-to-order platform that will enable our customers to easily scale as needed in a robust and configurable manner,” said Saman Berookhim, Product Manager at Legrand.

According to Legrand, the Nexpand data center cabinet platform offers the scalability and future-proof architecture required to enable digital transformations, edge computing, IoT connectivity, 5G services, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

Over the course of two years, Legrand’s R&D efforts – along with many customer feedback sessions – have resulted in significant design advancements. According to Legrand, this has culminated in a one-of-a-kind IT cabinet solution that fulfills data center demands now and in the future.

“Legrand’s innovations are predicated on delivering solutions to our customers in the most efficient manner possible,” said Saman Berookhim, Product Manager at Legrand. “The Nexpand cabinet honors this philosophy by offering a single, configure-to-order platform that will enable our customers to easily scale as needed in a robust and configurable manner.”

Optimal Airflow Management

Legrand’s Nexpand data center cabinet platform is built on four fundamental values:

  • Smart – The inside of the cabinet may be modified in three dimensions, and the roof is totally modular. This “clever” design would give users more room and versatility when it comes to controlling top-of-rack equipment.
  • Solid – The new design has lightweight, sturdy doors in a frame that can easily support the weight of IT equipment, as well as a fully integrated locking and cabling system. According to Legrand, it’s quite a unique market offering.
  • Secured – Nexpand would ensure the highest degree of security by integrating with the most secure electronic door locking platforms, which include integrated high-security cable management and tamper-proof door mechanisms.
  • Sustainable – The new cabinet is engineered to provide excellent airflow control. This would result in a best-in-class, energy-saving solution. Legrand’s Nexpand data center cabinets are also made and manufactured with ecologically safe components, thanks to the Profile Environmental Passport, also known as Eco Passport.
