Legrand, a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures with reported sales of $5.3 billion in 2015, has partnered with Fiber Mountain to offer enterprises and colocation data center customers a software managed fiber-based connectivity solution coupled with Legrand’s extensive range of cabling and connectivity solutions.
Legrand is integrating Fiber Mountain’s Glass Core solution into their Connected Infrastructure solutions to deliver dynamic and managed fiber connections to complement their current data center offerings.
Legrand believes that software based management delivers the ultimate in scalability, error-proofing, remote real-time visibility and monitoring, automated network re-configurability, remote network management combined with optimized power and cooling for switching equipment.
These data center infrastructure connectivity offerings will provide significant benefits including CAPEX/OPEX savings, says Legrand, reducing or eliminating human errors, reducing labor costs, enhancing asset management and more, all while increasing functionality within the solution.
“We are excited to partner with Legrand’s Data Communication’s team to deliver on our mission to simplify network infrastructure through Fiber Mountain’s Glass Core,” said M. H. Raza, CEO of Fiber Mountain. “Our Glass Core technology is a virtual connectivity fabric that enables a dynamic software-managed layer 1 network which when used in conjunction with switch and router networks provide the highest level of network control.”
Legrand’s partnership with Fiber Mountain comes on the heels of Legrand’s recent launch of its Eliot (Electricity + IoT) program in North America. Eliot is a global Legrand IoT program that brings together Legrand’s worldwide expertise to advance connectivity and intelligence in the built environment.
